BioQuip Scholarship for Undergraduates 2011
Each year, BioQuip Products, a major supplier of entomology equipment, sponsors a $2,000 undergraduate scholarship to assist students in the upcoming academic year to achieve their goal of obtaining a degree in entomology or pursuing a career as an entomologist. This Entomological Foundation scholarship is designed to encourage student interest in entomology. The award is presented at the ESA Annual Meeting. The $2,000 is given to the student in two payments: $1,000 is presented to the student during the year the award is given and $1,000 the following spring/summer.
Only the following file formats will be accepted: PDF (Adobe Portable Document Format), RTF (Rich Text Format), TIF graphic files, or JPG graphic files. Files created on either PC or MAC platforms will be accepted. Please make sure scanned images can be clearly read on a computer screen. Font size for text may not be smaller than 10 point. A nomination package may contain no more than 6 separate files, and the size of each file must not exceed 3 MB.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must have been enrolled as an undergraduate student in entomology at a college or university in the United States, Mexico or Canada in the fall prior to the application deadline;
- if the college or university the student is attending does not offer a degree in entomology, the student must be preparing for a career as an entomologist through his/her studies.
- The student must also have accumulated a minimum of 90 college credit hours by September 1 following the application deadline, and either completed two junior-level entomology courses or have a research project in entomology. Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need.
