PhD Scholarship Position in Electronic Transport and Atomic Dynamics in Nanostructures
A Ph.D. position in the theoretical nanoelectronics group at DTU-Nanotech is availableThe basic aim is to develop a theoretical methodology and use it to calculate electronic transport properties and the effect of electronic current at the atomic scale in nano-conductors. In this project we especially wish to focus on the current-induced excited atomic dynamics in molecular-scale contacts. Our target is to model and predict the outcome of concrete experimental situations using first principles calculations based on density functional theory and non-equilibrium Greens function techniques [1-3].
The Ph.D. will be associated with the Theoretical Nanoelectronics group at the Department of Micro and Nanotechnology ( Official Website ) and will engage in a close collaboration with the Nano-Science Center, University of Copenhagen and international partners on both the theoretical and experimental side.
