The MDIS Merit Scholarship is an initiative aimed at providing high-calibre students with the opportunity to develop to their full potential. It offers scholarships to outstanding students pursuing their studies with MDIS.MDIS Merit Scholarship Application Rules
- The MDIS Merit Scholarship is solely offered to candidates who wish to enroll for MDIS full-time or part-time Advanced Diplomas, Bachelor’s Degrees and Master’s Degrees.
- The Scholarship does not carry a work bond and for every successful applicant, the following are available:
- Partial scholarships for Master’s Degrees valued at SGD 10,000 each
- Partial scholarships for Bachelor’s Degrees valued at SGD 10,000 each
- Partial scholarships for Advanced Diplomas valued at SGD 3,000 each
- Partial scholarships for Diplomas valued at SGD 3,000 each
- Eligible local and international candidates of all years of study and from all schools can apply, subject to selection approval. There is no charge levied for application.
Admission Criteria
Candidates with the following entry qualification criteria may apply:
MASTER’S DEGREES
Singapore
- Degree with GPA 3.5 and above OR
- Degree with Distinction OR
- Degree with First Class Honours
Brunei
- Degree with First Class Honours
China
- Degree with Grade B+ or better
- Degree with First Class Honours
India
- First Class Degree with Distinction
- Degree with GPA 3.5 and above
Korea
- Degree with GPA 3.5 and above
- Degree with GPA 3.5 and above
Maldives
- Degree with Distinctions or First Class Honours Degree
Myanmar
- Degree with GPA 3.5 and above
- Degree with score 90% or better
- Degree with First Class Honours
Taiwan
- Degree with score 80% or better
Thailand
- Degree with GPA 3.5 and above
Vietnam
- Degree with score 75% or better
BACHELOR’S DEGREES
Singapore
- GCE ‘A’ Level with minimum 3′A’ in major subjects or better
- Polytechnic Diploma with GPA 3.5 and above
Brunei
- GCE ‘A’ Level with minimum 3′A’ in major subjects or better
- GCE ‘O’ Level with minimum 4′A’ in major subjects or better
Central Asia
- Certificate of Secondary Education “Attestat”- Yr 11 with minimum score 4.5 for each subject or better
China
- Admission Letter from 1st Tier University – Project 211 universities
Hong Kong
- HKCEE Examination with minimum 5 ‘A’ or better
India
- Standard 12 Central Board / ICS with minimum 80% or better OR standard 12 State Board with minimum 85%
Indonesia
- Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) with GPA 8.5 or better
Korea
- High School Result with percentile rank of 85% or better
Malaysia
- Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia with minimum 3′A’ or UEC (Unified Examination Certificate) with minimum 6′A’
- Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia with minimum 9 ‘A’ or better
Maldives
- General Certificate Education ‘A’ Levels with minimum 3 ‘A’ in major subjects
Myanmar
- Basic Education High School Examination Certificate (B.E.H.S) / Matriculation – A list (Standard 10) with average score of 85 marks
Philippines
- High School Result with scores 90% or better
Sri Lanka
- General Certificate Education ‘A’ Levels with minimum 3 ‘A’ in major subjects
Taiwan
- High School Result with scores 85% or better
Thailand
- Higher Secondary School Certificate (Mathayom Suksa 6) with GPA 3.5
Vietnam
- Bang Pho Thong Trung Hoc Cap III with minimum GPA 8.0 or better
DIPLOMA
Singapore
- GCE ‘O’ Level with minimum 4′A’ in major subjects or better

The closing date for the scholarship application is 31 August 2011. Applications received after this date will not be accepted. Shortlisted candidates will be notified through email or post and will subsequently be required to undertake a qualifying admission test at a later informed date, time and venue.
The Scholarship Selection Committee will select and assess candidates based on their academic merits. Additional consideration may be given for leadership qualities, career ambitions and participation in extra-curricular activities.
Each scholarship is tenable only for the academic years for which it is awarded and is not transferable from one academic programme to another.
